The Argentine house featured in

Every year it's the same problem. He buys what he wants himself because no gifts make the cut. Clothes top the list of gifts people don't want. And if he loves the grill, you've already bought the accessories.

Here's the gift that solves the riddle, even if you know nothing about knives.

01

It's not another thing he already has

Every handle is cut from natural horn, bone, wood or silver, so the color, grain and shape change from knife to knife. No two are alike. He has never owned this one.

02

You don't need to know knives to get it right

Most “Argentine” knives online are made for tourists. These are made by hand in Tandil, in Buenos Aires Province, from honest materials: a stainless steel blade and a handle of horn, bone, guayubira wood or silver-nickel. No stamped “Damascus.” And if it isn’t right, you can send it back.

03

He'll actually use it

On the pampas, the gaucho cut his meat with this knife and speared it like a fork. Today it belongs at the head of his table and next to the grill, not in a drawer.

04

It arrives as a gift, not a package

Its own sheath, a lined presentation box, our signature Gaucho ribbon and a postcard for your note. Write your message; we take care of the rest.

05

It's the first heirloom

Horn, bone, wood and silver all age with every asado. Years from now it will be his knife, worn to his hand, and someday his son's. And when he tells the story, it starts with "my wife picked it out."

06

There's one for every kind of man

Ten handmade styles, from a classic bone-handle knife to hand-chiseled silver. Give one, or give two or four and save: one for the gift, one to keep, one for everyone on your list.

Ten handmade knives. One easy gift.

Every handle is natural horn, bone, wood or silver, so no two are alike. Pick the one that feels like him.
