Checking in with our favorite people living their best Gaucho - Buenos Aires life. This week: @jorgelopez_as
We’re bestowing the title of honorary gaucho on this one, because Netflix star Jorge Lopez quite frankly ticks aaaaall the boxes – and we all need a distraction right now.
The Chilean actor, who used to live in Buenos Aires, is currently on your screens as the notorious Valerio in Netflix’s addictive high-school thriller Elite – Season 3 has just dropped, so there’s plenty to catch up on if you’ve got time on your hands right now. He’s a friend of ours too, having been out and about wearing our Laprida sweatshirt over our Mitre tee with our designer Lautaro.
Having shot to fame in Disney’s all-singing, all-dancing, oh-so-wholesome Soy Luna, the 28-year-old then leaped into Elite, landing arguably the coolest and most controversial role in the show: Valerio. And while he addresses one of the last taboos on TV – a too-close relationship with his half-sister – it didn’t escape our notice that Valerio also sports an epic Elite wardrobe.
Highlights include the rock ’n’ roll take on school uniform (all gold chains and open shirt), an iconic Halloween costume (think Dracula meets Willy Wonka – really!), and the very chic collarless striped shirt that we found ourselves coveting during season 1’s cringiest moment: the dinner scene in which the whole family finds out what bro and sis have been up to.
Off-duty, Jorge’s style is equally cool, mixing high and low fashion, tailoring and sportswear, trainers and an occasional cowboy boot. He’s been spotted wearing a few GBA pieces too, including the Laprida sweatshirt, the Esquel bag and the Iconic Mitre T-shirt – which comes in white and heather-grey and is made from cotton sourced from Peru. We think his style shows just as much promise as his acting – watch this space…
